Dartmouth Town Council is seeking to appoint a new Clerk to the Town Council starting as soon as possible.

As the Council’s chief executive officer, the job involves providing advice and full support to the Town Council in all aspects of its operations. As both the Council’s “proper officer” and “responsible financial officer” the role demands good leadership, self-motivation, administrative, financial and interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for the community.

Prior experience of working in local government and/or relevant professional experience and qualifications will be an advantage. The successful applicant will already hold or be prepared to acquire within a specified period, the Certificate in Local Council Administration.

The post is full-time (37 hours per week and includes evening meetings). The salary will be in accordance with NJC recommendations and dependent on experience.

A new and exciting opportunity planning and managing, green open spaces and woodland,

Dartmouth Town Council are seeking a

“TOWN GROUNDSMAN”

To have overall control of the Town Council’s green spaces in Dartmouth and be a working gardener.

Essential skills include horticultural knowledge, use of garden machinery, a working knowledge of contracts and the ability to draw up forward plans.

Salary by negotiation according to experience.
