Dartmouth Events to celebrate the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee 

Dartmouth Caring - Diamond Jubilee Lunch Club Party

Sunday 3rd June 2012 12 noon

A special Dartmouth Caring lunch club will be held to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee, in the Community Corner in Dartmouth's Old Market. Contact 01803 835384.

 

River Dart Diamond Jubilee Parade

Monday 4th June 2012 - 3 to 6pm

The parade will consist of 60 vessels representing the wide range of waterbourne activities on the Dart - passenger ferries; rowing boats; fishing boats; Royal Navy vessels; gigs; sailing boats and even a pedalo!

The procession led by the historic boat The Fairmile, will leave the Castles at approx 3 p.m. at an average speed of two knots, passing close to the Royal Dart Yacht Club, Kingswear Quay, Darthaven Marina and Noss Marina. At Dittisham pier it will turn (approx 4.30 p.m.) and return close to BRNC, Dartmouth Embankment and the Dartmouth Yacht Club

This will be a visually impressive event as the boats will be decorated with flags and bunting and church bells in Dartmouth and Kingswear will be rung. Spectators can enjoy the spectacle at numerous vantage points along the river, and it is free!  Contact Anne Kelsey aewmeadfoot@aol.com

 

Lighting of Jawbones Beacon

Monday 4th June 2012

The Townstal Community Partnership will be holding an event at the Jawbones Beacon - everyone is welcome to attend.  The beacon will be lit at 22.15 as part of a chain of official beacons being lit around the country to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee.  For more details please contact Steve Smith 01803 834841.

 

Diamond Jubilee Street Party

Tuesday 5th June 2012 - 2pm onwards - Ivatt Road

 

Open to all, bring some food and drink but most of all bring yourself,

There will be a Street Disco entertainment, children's game area in the car park of the community hall.
